This was the first competition of 2011 and we one can't really have any expectations coming from a long break. I think we had a great tournament and practicing indoor both at PS40 and NEST helped us a lot.

Our game was dominant and we kept possession of the ball as long as we all still had energy. I would like to point out that we all played smart and tough, fought for every ball and even though we lost the last two games, we made them feel really uncomfortable.


The first game was an example of what can happen when we keep ball possession. This gave us confidence and patience to find the best chance to score. We also overcame the early goal against us. I liked how we kept attacking until the end getting the reward, since we scored 2 or 3 goals in the last few minutes of the game.

The second game seemed easier and we displayed a good ball management. We had many chances that only found the goalie's gloves. Here, I found another positive point: We didn't sink after the equalizer, and were persistent enough to find the winning goal just seconds from the end of the game.

Unfortunately, we found ourselves playing the toughest team last without resting between games and I think we felt it. We lost the field presence mostly due to tiredness. I have to point out that we did fight until the end and did not make it easy for them. We still made it to the semifinal.

I think we were all happy to have made it to the next round and even parents from the other teams noticed our performance. We held them pretty well but 2 "cheap" goals were hard to turn around. We tried to attack, mostly individually, without success.
