In our first game of the Spring Season, we lost 2-1 against a strong and fast team. I think we had played really good games the previous week and was expecting the same or even better.
Unfortunately, I think that the canceled practice on Thursday affected our game.
How do you think we did? Can you describe any positive and negative play? What can we work on this week as a team? How about individually? How can we all be more aggressive against stronger teams?
I think we played a alright game because we passed back and we had possesion to the ball. Some of our problems was that we were trying to shoot when there were a pack of children, we should have passed back so then they would have follow us and we could go foward. I think that the thursday practice affected us because we really didnt put to much pressure to the ball.
ReplyDeleteI think we did ok overall. We had many problems though. We didn't make the safe passes and we chased them on their side. Also on our goal chances we weren't able to get a clear shot. We just shot the ball into a pack of kids. If we had a Thursday practice then we may have been able to fix these problems. On the bright side we did keep the game close and got a nice goal.
ReplyDeleteWe held the ball for too long, and made to many touches to the ball once we received it. we would also make a person pass the ball over a long distance, which would give the other team a chance to steal the ball. If we checked to the person we would have eliminated the chance of giving the ball away to the other team. It is also easier to make a bad pass when you are trying to reach a person that is far away from you. During every practice we work on this through keep-away but for some reason we almost forget to do this in a game. I do not know if it is just nerves or laziness.
ReplyDeleteTo in the first sentence of my entry should be too.
ReplyDeletei think we did pretty good. the positive thing is that we never gave up and kept fighting for the ball. the negative thing is that we were almost bunch up and we barely moved also we kept the ball way to long and gave our opponet more time to relax and our psses were slopy. i think we need to work individually is passing also position in the air because we keep playing back and its because we can't keep positon in the air. i think a way we can be aggresive is by using our body and not fearing the opponet and start challenging them.
ReplyDeleteI think we played OK for the first game of the spring season. If we had had practice on Thursday, we would have beaten the other team. If we had had practice on Thursday, our passes would have been more accurate and we would have been more aggressive. If we had done both of those things, then we would have come away with the W.
