We played 3 games, winning 2 and losing 1. We had a rough start against Asphalt Green in the heat. The field didn't help play our way and had no choice but to play long balls to our forwards. Although we had chances, it's not the kind of game I prefer to play. In an unfortunate play, they scored a goal from what looked like a cross.
Luckily, I think we learned from that game and went strong in the second. From the very beginning, we tried to make connections and build plays from the back. Scarsdale did what they could, many times recurring to physical play. I'm proud that we always tried to play not letting them get into our heads. We also attacked with more determination, taking the ball to the end and crossing like we have been practicing. This paid off with Ethan's beautiful goal and Oliver's goal from the sideline. The score should have been 2-0 but their late goal didn't change the story.
Finally, it was a test to see if we were going to leave with a winning record. Some players were tired but we kept the same game. The first half was great. We were 2-0 up with possession. When you make the ball run for you. it's not a coincidence that many players were not tired and had played most of the half. In the second half, we experimented with players in different positions, and unfortunately, they tied 2-2. Frankly, it made it much more exciting. The last goal we scored was worth traveling so far for a tournament. It was a beautiful goal from every angle: the connections, determination, conception of the play, and of course, finishing.
I think it was a very successful day, taking second place. I would have loved to have a second game against AG, because I think we could have beaten them. Congratulations to all players. Time for your comments now...
I thought we played great in this tournament. though in the first game we had some trouble, i have to say that field wasn't as good as the other we played on. We made some mistakes in the first game and it lead to two goals. In the second game we played well and we had control of the ball most of the time. I think we need to look around more, because there were times when we just played on one side and there was no one guarding the players on the other side. The ref made some questionable call's but we still played hard. in the third game we played great in the first half the east fishkill team barely had the ball. But in the second half some of our players started to get a little lazy and weren't coming back to help in defense and they ended up scoring two goals. But then we started to play really well, we made the right passes, we attacked in waves and in the outcome Oliver scored a brilliant goal. We played tough a even though the ref did a really bad job.

ReplyDeletethe first game gave us a bit of trouble with asphalt green , but we treid our hardest to keep up. our second game was a succes. we won with 2-1 and the end was a bite of a huge fight i and everyone stayed strong especially the goaly.the second game was a tie but we would of won if the coach wouldn't argue. in that game we thought of scoring and we started playing slupy and forget all about the play and olviers goal schould of counted. in other words 2nd place is not so bad. we played great on the feld.

Our first game against asphalt green was a bit trouble for, we tried to pass the ball but the only problem was that the ground was to bumpy and it kept bouncing everywhere. Our second game was great, we took shots from outside which led to a goal, we had possesin, and we were attacking in waves. It was a tough game but we played a great game. Our 3rd match we had the we had the ball on there side if the field for the whole half but in the second half we didnt attack so much and not all of our passes went to our players which made them score 2 goals and tie. But at the last minute we played incredible and oliver made a great goal( even though the ref didnt count it). Overall we played really great.
ReplyDeleteI thought that we played hard. Our first game was hard for us. Our passes would bounce up in the air before it would reach a player. In our second game we played HARD! We fought hard every moment of the game until the final whistle was blown. That game we played like a team. We took our time and waited for those perfect opportunities. In our third and final match we played with all the strength we had left. We had a tie 2-2 throughout most of the second half. Then in the final seconds Oliver made a sensational goal. (Even though the referee was slobbered by parents yelling that it wasn't a goal. Really they were just mad because we made such a perfect goal at a clutch moment.) In the end i thought it was a great tournament overall. In this tournament we really came together and used all of our individual skills in order to score.
